Unleash Your Inner Creativity With Sip & Gogh

With all the stressful works and obligations that we have to bear on a daily basis and not to mention the personal problems and baggage that we carry everyday, all we really need is a quick escape. We need an outlet to express out our feelings and to unwind ourselves from the stressful environment. Traveling maybe an effective escape from reality but not everyone has an ample of time to spend. It simply takes a lot of preparation and not everyone can afford leaving their work for a week or so.

Interestingly, I discovered another effective way to unwind without consuming much of your valuable time and that is through art. Art can be manifested in many forms! Painting is a form of art and so as sculpting. Dancing and singing are both considered arts too! So how can someone relieve himself from stress by simply being creative?Painting for an instance is more than just a hobby. It helps you in so many ways. By focusing on what you do, you can easily avoid distractions that stress you. In addition to that, you can also alleviate stress by channeling your emotions through your drawings or sketches. Sometimes, those feelings that we keep inside can be expressed through art.

I’m not an artist, I am not creative, how can I make a masterpiece? Some of you might come up with such question and self-doubts but let me remind you that all of us are born as artists and we are all creative in our own special way. The only problem is that most of us created a standard to determine which art is good and which art is not. It doesn’t mean that when you start something, you will instantly end up with something magnificent. Like what Vincent Van Gogh said “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together“. So if you think you made a mistake on your first art, then there’s plenty of time for you to correct it until you come up  of what you can confidently called “a masterpiece”.

So how can you start with this kind of art therapy? You cannot just buy a piece of canvass and a bunch of paint tools and start painting. Sometimes, you need to get the right atmosphere (a quiet and peaceful one) to get the right mood or better yet you can visit this paint studio that I recently discovered. It is called “Sip & Gogh“, a unique studio that combines art instructions and appreciation and quality food and drink services.  A very unique concept indeed that offers to give you an out of the box experience that will help you unleash your inner creativity!

As what the title of the business suggests, Sip & Gogh took the inspiration from Vincent Van Gogh‘s fascinating life story and masterpiece. I was able to visit their newest branch in Century City Mall along with other bloggers and we were warmly welcomed by Ms Grace Marasigan (CEO), a young and business minded woman and a caring mom. Upon entering the studio, we were greeted by a very cozy atmosphere adorned with so many Van Gogh Paintings displayed on the shelves.

We arrived late but we were greatly accommodated by their friendly staffs. We were introduced to Sir Noel, their Artist for the Day who taught us everything we need to know from scratch. We were given our aprons along with a palette filled with colorful paints and brushes. The blank canvass was placed in front of us and we were all encouraged to unleash our inner creativity by painting an artwork that is inspired from “Alley By The Lake” of Leonid Afremov, a world reknown artist.

The very approachable Sir Noel guided us all throughout the process and he patiently taught us all the techniques we need to know. It didn’t take us so long to produce a masterpiece and our session ended up for less than two hours. It was truly a rewarding experience especially when you see your finished artwork. It doesn’t really matter if it ended not exactly as you want it t be but considering that you exerted your time and effort with it, it is a kind of craft that you can hang on your wall and confidently brag about it saying “hey I made that!”. Yes! You’ll bring home your own art after your session!

Sip & Gogh is more than just a painting studio. Aside from the cozy atmosphere, they also allow their participants to enjoy their sessions with their  complimentary drink and appetizer snacks.  You can also bring your own bottle of wine too (with minimal corkage fee to be applied).

The sip and paint studio is more than just a place that will provide you the kind of escape you are looking but it can also be an outlet for many other things. Ms Grace Marasigan shared her own story with us and what really inspires her to franchise Sip & Gogh and establish a branch in the Metro. Her lovely daughter was her inspiration which started when she took her daughter in one of the Sip & Gogh branches and was amused on how her daughter appreciated such craft at such a young age.

Sip & Gogh also offers wide range of services and their painting sessions are very ideal for corporate team buildings, birthday parties, reunions and even Christmas parties! Their open sessions are also a great outlet to socialize with other people and make friends!

Loved the idea of art cafes. There are a few here in Bangalore and my sister is a regular. She says the places are totally relaxing. It’s her stress buster of sorts!

That’s a cool concept and something new right now. When cafe boomed with different styles, this one here makes everything so artistic. I am not an artist myself, but I would love to have the opportunity to come here. When Miss Grace announced the invite, I really wished to join but living in the province would make it difficult for me. Hopefully next time.

I used to love to paint when I was a child and sometimes I wonder what would happen if I would buy a set of acrylics and start doodling on a piece of paper. I love this concept of painting workshops and I wish there was one in my town as well. They seem to be more popular in Asia then in Europe. I do think that creating art does relax you. Beautiful painting by the way, you do have talent! Your piece is wonderful!

Art cafes are interesting ! They have such unique themes. Loved these too, though I don’t know these art styles, they do seem attractive and eye catching. Thanks for the information on these sessions.

This is really a brilliant idea and I would really love to experience this. I have always believed that art (in any form) is therapeutic. I hope they open a branch here in Bacolod.

This is honestly a very cool and unique concept! I like that it has a feeling of therapy in case someone’s feeling burnout. I think this would be a nice concept to bring to Cebu. By the way, do you know the price range of this?

Wow, looks like I found my next favorite hang out place. I like to draw but haven’t tried real painting. Only used oil pastel and watercolor before, I think I’ll unleash the Van Gogh in me here too! By the way, your piece looks good!

This sounds like a very relaxing and creative activity to do with family and friends. I read about Sip and Gogh previously on a blog and I have always wanted to give it a try. I am not creative but I thought this will be great for non-creatives like me, too! This is a perfect bonding activity, too. Love your art, it makes me more excited to try this place out very soon!

You all seemed to have a good time at that event! I feel like I missed a lot by cancelling my pass for that Sip and Gogh invite. But maybe I can try with my son or my sister next time?! Painting is something I have been wanting to explore. If I have a talent, maybe I can discover at Sip and Gogh! I’d really love to visit the studio!

I have been there at Sip and Gogh: Paint and Sip Studio. I love how this studio brings out the inner artistic side of each artist while enjoying the drink. I love your painting, though.

Your work was lovely! I miss painting. It’s been ages since I last painted something. I used to paint a lot using watercolor when I was still a student. I hope to indulge in this passion again next year. Will definitely check out a Sip & Gogh branch near our place.
