There has been ongoing argument whether Taylor Swift is considered as Country singer or Pop Singer. They said that Taylor started her career as a teen country singer from her small town in Pennsylvania. She began singing country and cross over pop music. Some people are saying that she’s a fake country singer but for me she’s no and the word “fake” would be the last thing I would describe her.  She’s more of a modern country singer for me. Yes, she may not have the most powerful vocal like what most country singers has but she is undeniably amazing song writer. She write true-to-life and down to earth songs which are two of the characteristics of a country song.

She just had a very successful concert here in Manila last night which shows that a lot of people love her. Oh i love her music videos too. There are so much drama on it which reminds me of Dolly Parton but of course, DP is way a lot better than TS.

Today’s Thursday edition of Myx Daily Top Ten (Philppines’ number one music station), it is Taylor Swift who made it to the top with her latest single “Mine” followed by David Archuleta’s “Something ’bout Love”. I’ve been a big fan of Taylor Swift ever since. I love Country music and i guess that would be one of the major factor why i am so attracted to her songs. Last night, January 31st, is such a big night for both Taylor Swift and Beyonce Knowles. Taylor smashes out Grammy by winning 4 major awards including “Best Female Country Vocal Performance”, “Best Country song” for her “White Horse”, “Best Country Album”, and ofcourse the “Album of the Year” award. Taylor Swift marked a history for being the youngest artist to win “Album of the Year” award at the age of 20.

Taylor Swift is one of my favorite Country singers along with Carrie Underwood, Gloriana and classic country hit makers including Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. Taylor Swift start gaining award after the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards where Kanye West disses her out during her Acceptance speech for winning Best Female Video for her hit song “You belong with me” saying that Beyonce video( Single Ladies) should have wonm the title.

Her album “Fearless”  has topped the Billboard 200 in 11 non-consecutive weeks; no album has spent more time at No. 1 since 2000. Forbes ranked Swift 2009′s 69th-most powerful celebrity with earnings of $18 million. Swift was named Artist of the Year by Billboard Magazine in 2009. In January 2010 Nielsen SoundScan lists Swift as the top-selling digital artist in music history with over 24.3 million digital tracks sold to date.

This is such a huge success for a 20 year old singer. Cheers for Taylor Swift!!
