Halloween is nearly approaching and as a matter of fact, Milzon and I are planning to make some Halloween crafts at home. I’m sure his  school will organize another Halloween Party just like what they did last year in which we had so much fun. Halloween is usually associated with some fun activities and events including the Jack O Lantern Carvings and Trick or Treating. Most establishments and houses are being decorated to provide some haunted attractions for kids. Halloween costume Parties are pretty in demand today not just for kids but for all ages as well.

Looking back at last year’s event, I’m glad that I was able to save some pictures.

These are some wall decors that we made (Jack O Lantern and Frankenstein) . We make use of colored papers and some pieces of strings, making them inexpensive yet lovely Halloween hanging decorations. We made spider webs and life size skeleton too to add more spirit on the occasion.

Halloween Costumes doesn’t have to be very expensive especially for kids and in fact, you can make your own costumes by simply using some used materials and input some of your creativity and I’m sure you’ll end up in something good. The pictures above are few of the costumes that we made last year. Milzon’s Bloody Knife Headgear is actually my personal favorite. Who would have thought that we will come up with such wonderful craft out of used aluminum foil and card board. To make his costume complete, we asked him to wear an old “Barong Tagalog”. Mirasol, on the other hand is wearing a Fairy-inspired head gear which is a very popular costume theme for girls. Funny, but we make use of old Christmas balls for her antenna and her old pink gown as well to complete her Fairy costume. We improvised fairy wings too to make it more attractive.

As For Adult Costumes, I don’t think it is advisable to make costumes out of recycled materials anymore unless you are so creative. Shown above are two of the costumes I’ve seen last year. The Avatar-inspired costume is quite in demand during that time. I think it requires a lot of effort because you have to cover your self with body paint and you have to buy a wig and a pair of wings to complete the Avatar set. The Scream face- inspired costume on the other hand is very common and not so thrilling anymore. For girls, you can try out those sexy bunny costumes or Playboy-inspired suits which are pretty in demand today. If you want to be more unique, then why not try a Lady Gaga-inspired outfits? Anyway, no matter what costumes you wear, what matters most here is to bring and feel the fun.

I know this is a very late post.Today I’ll share you some of pictures taken last September 4 which is Milzon’s 8th Birthday. I posted an entry last month showing our Pre-birthday celebration where in I treat him in one of his favorite Amusement center in SM. So this time, it’s Milzon’s big day. He invited some of his classmates and friends. It’s a very simple celebration compare to what we had last year. I bought him a small cake with “Angry birds”  toys on top of it.

While mom cooked her special Spaghetti and Lumpiang Shanghai for my brother. It’s a very typical celebration and what makes it differ than last year is that Milzon invited some classmate to drop by and celebrate with him. He’s kinda shy last year to invite his classmates.

Good thing his birthday was on Sunday and he was able to play with his friends the whole Day.

Before leaving, we asked them to pose one last time. My Auntie and cousins also came to visit my brother and they offered some gifts too. Milzon had so much fun that day and wishing to have the same birthday next year. I promise myself to make it extra special next year.

It was a great relief to know that we were able to celebrate his birthday successfully and here’s a plate of spaghetti and a choco bar (given by my Auntie) to treat myself!

Today is my Lolo’s birthday. He’s not with us anymore but we used to celebrate his birthday every year by visiting him in the cemetery and by cooking some of his favorite dishes including Spaghetti. Spaghetti is like a “must be” food in every birthdays don’t you think? It’s not just for kids but for everyone. I grew up loving my mom’s spaghetti. It used to be sweet unlike any other pasta dishes. (so Filipino haha).

It’s 5:30 in the morning now and mom is preparing to go to the market which is just a walking distance from our house. And i’m still awake!! What’s up with that? LOL. Oh and while i’m posting this, i was also searching some jobs online. I am planning to give up my current work and look for something else. How about working in a call center again? I’m a night owl so i’m so sure that i can deal with the graveyard shift with no ease. I just don’t know if i can handle the stress.

I worked as a call center agent before. I was like hopping from one call center to another. I began working in Teletech, then after 8 months, i transferred at Teleperformance and the last company would be Sykes. Then after that, i took another year in college. And because i will stop this upcoming school year again, i am now looking for a greater opportunity. Greater than the company that i am working with right now. I love being in the office but working in a call center will give me greater opportunities. Care to advise guys?

Put them inside the fridge and Tadah! We got the creamy and icy Tiramisu!

The countdown has just begun as we only have 58 days left before the much awaited Christmas. I remember last year, we had a very nice Christmas because our relatives  from the province visited us to spend their Christmas Eve with us. I remember how much preparation we did last year. I think we started to display Christmas decors as early as September. Actually, we began decorating our Christmas tree last week and placed it near the living room. I wonder when will we be making Christmas Cards because i remember last year, it is me and my brother Milzon who decided to make and design our own Christmas cards and gave one for each member of our family including our beloved Auntie who is now temporarily residing with us. Milzon really loves making art projects and i am so amazed how creative he is. We’re actually planning to do some Christmas-related projects this weekend. I will share some photos here  soon.

The countdown has just begun as we only have 60 days left before the much awaited Christmas day. Philippines is well known for being one of the countries that has the longest celebration for Christmas. We started to celebrate Christmas in September where in people began placing Christmas Decors outside their house. They also start decorating their Christmas trees and more. By the first week of December, you will about to see kids caroling from one house to another. By now, you will definitely feel the spirit of Christmas in our house. We decorate our house last Sunday, placing Christmas lights outside. We also grab the opportunity to replace the outdoor light fixtures, in which we occasionally do. We also add some hanging decors and lanterns to make our exterior more colorful and alive. We are planning to buy a miniature Christmas tree this weekend and some hanging decors too. I will show some pictures soon.

September is the start of what so-called “ber” months. And once we say “ber” months, it is also the start of the series of holidays including Halloween, Thanksgiving Day ,Christmas and New Years Eve.  And during these special Holidays, like Christmas and New Year in particular, we usually spend more than our daily expenses. Well, simply because we want to make such holidays extra especial. We celebrate such occasion once a year, so why not make it special and something unforgettable, right? Philippines is well known for having the longest celebration of Christmas day. You can feel the Christmas spirit starting from the month of September. You do not have to be surprised seeing Christmas decorations everywhere. We, Filipinos are very luxurious when it comes to these kind of celebrations. We served a lot of delicious foods during Christmas eve like smoked ham, spaghetti and other traditional Filipino delicacies like Bibingka (rice cake) and “puto Bungbong”. But of course, before anything else, we try to make sure first, if our budget is enough to shoulder everything. Because sometimes, even we received Christmas bonuses from our employer, the budget is still not enough to buy everything. This is the reason why we are very thankful to payday loan lenders who are willing to lend us extra money before any other occasions which includes birthday. Well, sometimes, we have to admit that there are some unexpected expenses that will ruin our budget. But nowadays, there are lots of lending companies who are not so reliable and their aim is nothing but to scam other people so i suggest to check first the company’s history to verify if it is reliable or not or you can just apply payday loans online in which you are more ensured. Anyway, in any occasion especially the Christmas day, we have to be aware that we are celebrating such occasion to pay tribute to our creator, so it doesn’t really matter if you celebrate it luxuriously or not, as long as you know what you are celebrating for, that’s all that matters.

Yesterday, we celebrated our nephew’s first birthday in a private resort. We really had so much fun and in fact, a lot of foods were served. Some of them brought spaghetti, “puto” or fluffy rice cakes, ice cream and cakes. Since it is a swimming party, dishes are limited knowing that it is not our place and it will be time consuming if ever we bring a lot. For adults, beverages like hard drinks, vodkas and beers were served. We actually bring an outdoor grill but it took us forever to set the fire because the water from the pool were splashing and reaching the grill making it hard for us to set the fire. If we only have an outdoor electric grill, we will not be worrying anymore about those water splashes and it will also makes our work done faster. Anyway, we had so much fun and we are planning to celebrate my sister’s birthday on the same venue.

My cousin celebrated his birthday in a private resort. We really had so much fun andi ate a lot. The parties are intended for kids and for a kid at heart like me hehe. There are 2 set of pools. One is for kids while the other one is for adults with a depth reaching 6 feet. Since i don’t know how to swim, i decided just to take some pictures of those kids swimming and playing.

I am thinking to celebrate my birthday on the same location but ofcourse i’ll be inviting my friends and not kids.
