What do you usually offer when a friend or a relative of yours is sick and has to stay in the hospital for a week or so? Don’t have any idea yet? I listed down some ideal gifts you can offer. Some of them are very common while others are pretty unique and I hope you find this list quite useful. ► Flowers - Flowers are very common yet still effective “Get well soon” gift for sick patients. Sending a sick patient a gift is the best way to help them in their speedy recovery. They said that flowers can change someone’s mood. So if you’re friend is really sick, you can help him/her in your own simple way by sending them flowers and put a smile on their face.

►Fruits - Another common yet very ideal Get well soon gift are fruits. Of course, they need more strength to fight for their illness and for faster recovery as well. Giving them fruits and encouraging them to eat some will definitely boosts enough energy and will give them enough nutrients that their body needs to fight their sickness. Doctors might restrict them to eat heavy meals that’s why it is very ideal to bring fruits because most likely, these are the only foods they are allowed to intake.

►Personal Hygiene Products – It is quite unusual to give personal hygiene products to someone but if you know that your friend will be staying in the hospital for quite a long time, then you might consider bringing such items. It doesn’t mean that you are teasing him or criticizing his or her personal hygiene, it’s more of a way of saying, Keep yourself healthy and strong.

►Stuffed Toys – Mostly for Girl patients. Stuffed toys will keep their boredom and loneliness away while they’re staying in the hospital. Of course, you cannot visit her in a regular basis most especially if you have other obligations to prioritize. With the use of stuffed toys, she will’ somehow, feel that you’re there for her. So sweet right?

►Personalized Get Well Gifts – Nowadays, most people offer personalized get well gift because this will show how much you care and how much you wishes him/her to recover. As what the term connotes, it is personalized, which means, you exerted effort just to have that gift. It will help the patient to recover much faster because they will be more determined to recover. Sometimes, recovering from sickness is a Mind over matter thing. The more you think positively, the more positive outcome you’ll receive.

► Your Presence – The most important thing of all is your presence. Show him or her how much you care by visiting them in the hospital. Spend time with them and express how much you wishes them to recover.

This is a continuation of my post about Milzon’s Tagaytay trip in relation with the recently held Boy Scout gathering event. The event was held in Tagaytay Sport Complex and all Scouts from different schools were gathered here.

Everyone is preparing for the first activity.

The first activity is more like a drill where in kids should surpass series of obstacles. There are four stations here and the first one is the garter loops.

The second station is the stiff Bamboo bridge. They just have to pass the bridge and go straight forward to the next station. Of course, in order to pass the bridge they have to balance themselves because if they fell, they have to go back to start. Sorry for the video, my mom can’t shoot the video properly because because of the huge crowd.

The third station is the Mini Cave. Kids have to enter the cave one by one. They have to rush themselves because they have to finish all the stations within the given amount of time.

You can see 2 pairs of dice in the last station. Kids have to pick a pair and throw themand throw a pair. They have to get the right pair (color coded). If they got the Jackpot word, they will be awarded with a badge.

After few minutes of break, here comes another activity. It’s an Agaw-Bitin and kids are so excited to get a prize. Each plastic were filled with candies and mini toys. Milzon was able to get one yay!

Our mighty Kabscouts are taking their break. They are preparing for another exciting activity! The Horse Race!

Kids were gathered again for a racing event. Each kids were given a Horse Stick toy and they have to run from one end to another.

They are about to do another set of activities however, the weather seems to be not so cooperative because it started to drizzle and the event organizer had to postponed the rest of the activities. After few minutes of waiting, the rain started to flow and the school head decided to end their Boy Scout trip. They were advised to pack their things.

Some schools did the same thing so unfortunately, they had to cut their Boy Scout Event and the KABSayahan was over. It is supposed to be an overnight event and a they are supposed to have a camp fire but because of the Rain, they had to cut down everything though Milzon had so much fun and he wishes to visit Tagaytay again.

A week after this event, Milzon had to attend another Boy Scout related School activity. It’s their Oath Taking Ceremony! I will post about this event in my next entry. Thank you guys for droppong by.

Just like what i’ve mentioned in my previous post, during our stay in our Auntie’s house, my cousin grabbed that opportunity as well to show us his brand new base guitar. He is a member of an amateur band and he used to play the lead guitar that’s why I am quite surprise to found out that he’s focusing now on a different guitar.

Base or bass guitar is a stringed instrument played primarily with the fingers or thumb (by plucking, slapping, popping, tapping, or thumping), or by using a pick.

Unlike the typical guitars, it only has 4 big strings with bigger and heavier tones. Actually, the sound of the  bass guitar is not that noticeable unless you are  a music expert. Anyway, this is such a great news from my cousin. I have heard that his planning to buy his own drum set soon.

By the way, here’s one of his band’s rehearsals. It’s an instrumental version of Fuwa Fuwa time, a Japanese song from Anime K-on. Enjoy!

So finally, after that long Dizzy travel with Milzon, We finally reached SM Molino. And since we’re both tired, we decided to take our lunch first. SM Molino is a very small SM branch. It has two floors with 4 Cinemas, 1 department store, series of fast food chains and other common shops. It is not as thrilling and exciting as Mall of Asia but less people are dropping by here, you do not have to wait that long before your foods are being served. Milzon is such a big fan of Mcdonalds but unfortunately, there’s no McD branch here so we ended up hitting Jollibee. I ordered their burger value meal and their new Jollibee float.

Since Milzon needs more energy after his dizzy travel experience, he took a rice meal. He ordered One piece Chicken with Regular coke and a chocolate Sundae.

He’s not a big fan of Jollibee and for him, Jollibee is more like the mortal enemy of Ronald Mcdonald so he felt like betraying Mcdo while were taking lunch at Jollibee. So let Milzon judge the taste by looking at his reactions

So he just ended up taking my Float and satisfied himself with it. Sigh

Last Sunday, Milzon celebrated his 8th birthday but 5 days before that, I already treat him in advance. I decided to take him to SM. We traveled for almost 2 hours from Cavite City to Molino Bacoor. SM City Bacoor is nearer but we preferred to hit SM Molino because we’re planning to visit our Auntie as well. But before reaching our destination, Milzon had to face one of the biggest challenges in his life haha. Milzon used to get Dizzy easily whether we’re riding on a bus or even in a jeep. That’s why whenever we bring Milzon on a travel, we always bring plastic bags or pouch for him to vomit. We do not have car so we really have to commute in order to reach our destination. After a few minutes, Milzon started to feel dizzy and look how pitiful he is while we’re on the bus.

Yikes! Thanks God, I brought some plastic bags or else he will end up vomiting ion my lap.. ewwwww. haha. (my next post would be our lunch at Jollibee)

As you all know, i am Milzon’s personal tutor now since he refused to take that private tutorial services offered by my friend. It isn’t that hard actually but it consumed most of my time though i am not complaining. As a matter of fact, i am planning to take that upcoming seminar on how to improve methods of teaching this coming August. I am taking this tutorial services seriously now. My cousins are now asking me if i can teach their kids too after school. I guess this is a great opportunity to grab especially now that i am seeking for a new job. I just don’t know if this job pays well but then again, it’s not all about the money right? teaching has always been my passion that’s why i took BS Education in College.

Anyway, i was helping my little brother awhile ago with his home work. His teacher gave them set of words to memorized and i have a strong feeling that they’re gonna have a spelling quiz tomorrow.

Thanks God Milzon managed to memorize these words easily (what a relief… whew!). Our Tutorial session lasted for 2 hours today but then my nephew Noel, surprisingly , approached me and asked me if i can help him with his assignment. They do not have Internet at home that’s why he asked for my help. It was not that brain draining but it took me awhile completing his list of medical apparatus.

Chemistry is not my forte you know! haha so i ended up giving him 10 medical equipments only with short descriptions. I’m not sure if his satisfied with it or what haha. Maybe i should’ve added at least 5 more equipments. I even failed to include stadiometer to his list. Sigh.

Oh my nieces will visit us here too! I am scheduled to teach them tomorrow so i better prepare my visual aids now. Have a great day guys and Happy blogging.

Time really run out so fast and I just can’t imagine how many things have changed today! It seems that it was just yesterday when i am playing with Michelle, my childhood friend. We were best friends and we are really that close. Their house is just one block away from us and i used to visit her whenever I have some questions regarding about our home works. But of course, we are not that kid anymore. She took her college at Manila and she decided to stay there for good since her employer is much nearer on her place but then she used to visit her parents here from time to time. The only way that we can keep in touch is through Facebook. That keeps both of us updated to each other.

Okay, before anything else, please don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing cheesy about our relationship. We are best friends and we are happy to keep that relationship forever. She is currently in a relationship and she just announced it last week that she’s now engaged and I am invited to her wedding. I am really happy for her and i wish her all the success in life. She’s really happy right now and I can see it confidently on her face. Well, i will not be surprised if one day, I will received my Baptism invitations from her for her first baby. Yay! That’s very exciting!

Yikes… i just realized that i am not getting any younger and i’m sure one of these days, I will find the right girl for me too! Someone who i can be with forever. Right Chelo? haha I love you Chelo and I am so proud to have you as my best friend…. so excited about your wedding.

Milzon really loves to draw and he does that every time after school. In fact, i even made him his own drawing table and working place for it. We also keep all his drawings in a folder to show him how much we appreciate his masterpieces. You should all appreciate your little brother or your child’s drawings no matter how worst it is. One must keep in mind that basic understanding  that pictorial representation of a figure, object or person need not be the only criteria for a beautiful work of art. In other words, the exact copying of an object or a person need not be the essential evidence for a perfect masterpiece. Remember that your child has no intention of creating a picture in the same sense as you, as adult. keep in mind too, that he is drawing or painting as a natural self expression because to him, it is primarily fun! Try to remember that your child maintains his particular style  or characteristics throughout his work. For example, he may base most of his drawings with a peculiar circle shape that is inscribed with a dot or a dash, even a cross. This may appear again in a flower, a button, a handle or a basic design. This is the development of style. Thus it is equally important to save your child’s drawings and to review them from time to time. Keep a scrapbook of his artwork. I will share some more tips in my next post.

While we’re cleaning the upstairs, we found a 1974 September Issue of a Reader’s Digest magazine inside my mom’s closet. Well mom used to store old magazines and this is probably one of her oldest issues.

I saw Merle Haggard on the cover and since i am big fan of old country music, i grabbed this copy and read the column about him. Merle Haggard is the one who popularized songs like “Mama Tried” and “America First” which are two of my most favorite country songs. He’s still active in the music scene and he collaborated with so many country artists including Willie nelson and Roger Miller. I just don’t know if he had a duet with my all time favorite Dolly Parton but i wish they had. (better search it on Youtube haha).

Anyway, aside from the the 7 pages column about Merle Haggard, I also found some cool topics on the Magazine. It’s funny but I saw some old advertisement there showcasing an old style phone and a classic tv.

Look at the old tv! It was the newest model at that time. I just can’t imagine how much it improves today. Right now, we’re all enjoying a great watching experience through LCD TV or flat screen tv. The higher the model, the higher the resolution you’ll get right? I wonder how much that old tv cost huh. I will buzz more about the funny advertisement i saw at the magazine soon. Have you ever tried sleeping on a wooden and uncomfortable sofa? I did! Most of the time especially when my relatives are here to visit us. We do not have extra room for them that’s why i have no choice but to offer my room. They are our guest so they really deserve that special treatment from us and it isn’t that nice to see them sleeping on the sofa or on the carpet in our living room. For me, that is a sign of being disrespectful.

Anyway, back to the “sofa thing”,it is really not a big deal to me. I really don’t mind sleeping in our wooden sofa or even in our carpet. I gt used to it already haha. And besides, i do have an insomnia. I used to sleep around 4 am to 5 am so i will just be lying there for a short period of time and then wait for them to wake up, then that’s the time for me to enter my room again and sleep the whole day. (what a night owl).

I just hope that my mom and dad will soon realized this sacrifices and i just wish they will think of buying a new sofa or bring this to an upholstery shop and put upholstery fabric on it just like what they did with our dining chairs.

That’s all for now guys, i am so sleepy already. Could you imagine that? It is almost 10 am and i am still awake. This is bad and i should do something to cure this insomnia. Sobs.
