Yesterday, we celebrated our nephew’s first birthday in a private resort. We really had so much fun and in fact, a lot of foods were served. Some of them brought spaghetti, “puto” or fluffy rice cakes, ice cream and cakes. Since it is a swimming party, dishes are limited knowing that it is not our place and it will be time consuming if ever we bring a lot. For adults, beverages like hard drinks, vodkas and beers were served. We actually bring an outdoor grill but it took us forever to set the fire because the water from the pool were splashing and reaching the grill making it hard for us to set the fire. If we only have an outdoor electric grill, we will not be worrying anymore about those water splashes and it will also makes our work done faster. Anyway, we had so much fun and we are planning to celebrate my sister’s birthday on the same venue.

Yesterday, when I was looking at some photo albums, I found this picture of one of my high school friends who took Nursing at college.

Well, it makes me so curious about them and so I tried to check them on Facebook. We went separate ways as she took Nursing while I took Education. It is completely different worlds. Her field is in medicine while mine is teaching. Well, luckily, she’s on my friends list so I got a chance to visit and view her profile and view some of her photos.

Surprisingly, I saw some familiar faces, realizing that it’s not only her who took the same course, also some of my high school friends. It is so fun to see how much they have grown and changed.

It’s been a long time now since we had our last high school reunion. Maybe they are now too busy with their work. Unlike teachers who work on office hours, Nurses have what we called “Night or Graveyard Shift” which is really stressing for sure.

I wasn’t that so sure why they are wearing this colorful uniform instead of the traditional white coat. As far as I know, they should have at least registered nurse degrees (RN degrees) in order to qualify themselves to work. I think it’s the equivalent of “Licensed Teacher” in our course. Those are the Education students who successfully passed the Teacher Licensure examination.

Passing these registered nurse degrees (RN degrees) are proof that you are now ready to perform your job as a nurse. Nursing is not an easy job as you are responsible for saving someone’s life. Well I know that’s what a doctor does but we have to take note that doctors are useless without these nurses that provides assistance not just to the doctor but also to the patients. I salute their profession.

June is about to come which means another School year is about to start. I haven’t buy any school supplies for my little brother yet who will be stepping to Grade 1 this year. I am very excited because this is his first time to step into a big school. I am sure that he feel the same excitement too. He will be meeting new classmate and new place. But before anything else, since i have something to use for the money that i will be receiving this coming payday, i think i have to use my credit card first to buy him some school supplies. He keeps on reminding me about the school supplies that i promised him to buy and i don’t want to disappoint him.

Anyway, speaking of credit cards, io found a site last night that offers free credit report and instant credit scores in which i found very interesting. If you want to know more about the site, just visit them at www.creditscorequick.com and see what more the site has to offer.

Have a great day everyone! Happy blogging!

My cousin ask a favor to me and that is to help her promote this house. She is now selling this house since they will be migrating in US this year. The house is located in Silang Cavite. Silang Cavite is the place before Tagaytay. It’s very refreshing here, the wind are so cold and fresh. This is a perfect rest house. If you are interested contact her at 09056539426 or 09089239465

I thought Paris is only known for being such a romantic place because of its famous Eiffel Tower and the cinematic view it could bring. Last night, i opened my YM and i caught my cousin online. He is now residing in Paris with his parents. We’re not actually that close because during our younger years, we always argue in so many things, as if we’re doing some debate. Last night, i didn’t expect that we will have a long argumentation comparing Philippines to Paris. According to him Parisians has greener lifestyle than Filipinos. Unlike before, this argumentation is something with sense. In the end, believe it or not, he won. He told me a lot of good things about Paris and why Paris locals have Green Lifestyle. The term “Green” I’m referring here is something to deal with the nature or environment and not the pervert thing. Now, here’s the  reason why i give up in our discussion. We try to lead a greener lifestyle by making changes and following rules. But in Paris, France, the Parisians naturally live a low-carbon and greener lifestyle. People in Paris eat foods from their own farmlands. This minimize the carbon emission from the transportation as well as the hazard in eating processed foods. The specialties in every region in France are wll known across the globe.

According to my cousin, most of them would rather walk to their destination than ride a vehicle. And if ever they do ride, they usually ride bikes. All kinds of people go to school, work, or anywhere with their bikes. Amazing isn’t. If only us, Filipinos, can change our lifestyle and means of transportation. Bikes in Paris even have their own street lane. many low-cost rental bikes and bicycle stations are scattered through out the city. Not only is it cheap but it is also a faster mode of transportation rather than riding a car in jam-packed street, just like what we have here in Philippines. And definitely, rising a bike is a good exercise as well.

Since we’re talking about transportation, another great thing to know about Parisian lifestyle is that, Parisians have small cars. Compare to our country, where you can see a lot of gigantic air-con buses and mini buses too. The small cars in Paris have a lot of advantages. They can fit on narrow streets and they won’t be hassle to park. It definitely causes less traffic on the road. However, even thoug cars are small they have the same advantages as a normal-sized car. These cars may not be specifically made to operate on alternative energy or fuel but their size contributes to fewer problems on the road.

That’s all for now, i will tell the rest of our discussion and what makes me think that Paris has greener lifestyle than  ours.

I joined my dad yesterday to visit my Uncle. We went to our province and meet our cousins. It’s been a long time since the last time we went there. My Uncle James is a farmer and he manage a lot of farm animals, poultry and livestock. I really enjoyed my trip to my Uncle’s farm especially the part where my cousins tour me in their place to meet all the animals. I found out that aside from poultry and livestock animals, they have lovely animals which can be found mostly in Zoos. They have turtles and parrots and more! And because this is a rare opportunity, i didn’t miss a chance to take some photos.

This is one of my Uncle’s poultry animals. This is a hen. They are the one who lay eggs. According to my Uncle, hens can naturally live for more than 6 years! Unlike broiler chicken who take less than six weeks after they have reached their slaughter size.

Now, here’s an imported-breed pig. Usually, pig has a pinkish color but this one has a fussy dark brown hair. It’s almost like a wild boar. I wonder how the taste differ from the usual pig. This pig is probably the cleanliest pig i have ever seen. Usually pigs’ habitat are muddy places  but look at the cage of this one, there’s no sign of mud isn’t?

Anyways, i enjoy our trip so much. It seems that i saw an actual FarmVille (a popular facebook game). I will tell the rest of the stories of this exciting farm trip including a little drama about the slaughtered sheep.

Teaching kids will test your patients so the most important thing that you have to consider is to control your temper. Never shout , scold, hit or whip them because of their mistakes or because its hard for them to pick up your words. This practices will loose their motivation to their studies and may lose their focus or concentration in their school works. Patience is a virtue remember? Getting errors are very normal for kids but you do not have to worry ,through this error, they will learn. I’ve been working as a part-time tutor since i was in high school. After going to school, my next destination is not to our house but to those children that im teaching with. My role as a tutor is not to do their homeworks or assignments but to teach them how to do such things. I will serve as their guide. If ever they have questions, i dont gave the exact answers but instead i gave them relevant information that will help them to know the answer. They should do it by their own. This post will give prior to your role as a parent or as a guardian and what are your responsibilities. For me, even though im not a parent yet, i would like to advice to teach your kid personally instead of hiring a tutor. In this way, they will be more comfortable. In teaching your kid, you have to prepared yourself. Here are some preparations that you have to follow.
Rendering your Time
You have to render a time for your kids. Im not referring to some bonding session here but to establish a study habit for your kid. We have to teach them how to balance everything. They should have a time for playing and a time to study.
Concentration
You have to focus yourself in teaching your child. It is advisable that you’re done with all your works and some house chores before teaching your child. This will help you to concentrate with what you are doing.
Child Psychology
You have to know of how child psychology works. Kids have their own attitudes and they can be very moody in terms of studying. You have to be observant and look for some ways how to handle your child.
Study and Share
We have to admit that sometimes we forgot what we’ve learned in our academic subjects. Sometimes, it is good that you read books and refresh your knowledge so in case that they will ask you something, you know what’s the answer.
Patience

As ive said, you have to control your temper and never scold them for their mistakes. You have to teach them nicely. Kids may took for granted for being nice so you have to be fair. Dont be too nice though you do not have to be too bad. Remember, you have to set your limitation.
Observing their Progress
You have to observe how much will they improve. It is good if you will try to refresh their minds and ask questions that you’ve tackled before. Ask them repeatedly if necessarily.

My Maternal grandmother was diagnosed to have a Liver Cancer. She is suffering from severe pain. Aside from her cancer, her Glaucoma, an eye disease, caused her to become totally blind. I felt so much pity for her but I know God has a reason for everything. According to her doctor, this condition is actually curable through series of operation and theraphy. However, because of her age, the doctor told us that it will be very risky for her to undergo series of operation.

Until now, my grandma is hoping for her sooner recovery which is good for her. But then, this is a Liver Cancer and we all know that Liver is the one that transmit Blood all through out our body and according to her doctor, we must expect that her condition will become worst especially if the cancer cells are being scattered all through out her body which may affect some of her organs like her lungs, heart, brain, muscle and bone.

I wish i can help her but all i can offer are my prayers. I grew up with her and i’m really close to her that’s why i am very affected by her coindition. She’s 75 years old now but for me, it’s too early for her to leave us. I want her to see me wearing my toga and i want her to see me as a succesful man.

This is so hard for me and i can’t do nothing about it. I love her so much and i don’t know how to accept everything.  Prayers! this is my only tool and i know how powerful it is. I know everything will be fine and my grandma will soon find her recovery. Please pray for my grandma’s recovery too!

For those whose not familiar with Miss Earth, Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. Last Year, it was Miss Phillippines Karla Henry, who was crowned as Miss Earth 2008 becoming the first Philippine representative and the first in the Asian region to be crowned as Miss Earth.

Now i wonder who among these beautiful ladies will bring home the crown and will be recognized as Miss Earth 2009?
